This is a classic exercise from Hanon which helps to improve agility, strength and finger independence. This is a great warm up for any keyboardist to use before a performance.

This exercise can be used for pianists who play classical music as well as keyboardists who play modern and contemporary music.

This warm up is always done with both hands simultaneously to improve finger independence. We will first show you how to play the right hand and then the left. You will see both hands played together afterwards.

At first, play this exercise slowly using the exact fingering from the video. As you improve your technique try increasing the speed of the warm up.

Tip: It is very helpful to use a metronome to regulate your speed.
